Popcorn Fundraiser
The Popcorn Sale officially kicks off Saturday September 25, 2010.
We will have popcorn available for sale on Saturday and Sunday at Lowe's in Champaign, Shnuck's in Savoy, and Wal-Mart in Urbana. Contact your Den Leader or Cub Master for Show & Sell times.
The only fundraiser for the year
The popcorn sale allows Pack 9 to pay for fun activities like the rocket launch, raingutter regatta, pinewood derby, and the Pack campout. It's been a great success every year and this year will be even better! The great part is, once we're done, we have all year to have fun!
More than just selling popcorn
Your Cub Scout is doing more than just selling popcorn. We are asking for a donation to help keep Scouting strong in the community. The programs we offer in Pack 9 are lots of fun but they also help teach the boys core values like respect, honesty, faith, and perseverence.
Selling popcorn to friends, relatives, and neighbors is an opporutnity to your Scout to grow and develop socially by speaking in front of people. The popcorn sale can be a valuable lesson in goal setting and can teach your Scout the value of making a plan to acheive his goals. Each Scout's goal is to sell $350. That's about half of one sales sheet.
Remember when selling
- Always go with your Scout to sell popcorn
- Your Scout should always be in full uniform when selling
- Keep it fun and don’t let him get discouraged.
- Help your Scout prepare something to say when selling popcorn
Try something like this:
“Hi my name is ________________________. I’m selling popcorn for Cub Scouts to raise money to go camping.” "Thank you!"
